Get ready to win! The DPAF is launching their 2nd Annual Silent Auction on November 20th. The auction is a fun and easy way to get amazing dermatology tools, educational resources, conference registrations, products, trips and more, while helping a great cause!
Starting today be sure to visit the DPAF website to browse through the online catalog of items and to start bidding.
All net profits from the auction will be donated to the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation (CSDF) Camp Wonder which is held in California for one week each year. Camp Wonder provides children with severe skin disease a one-of-a-kind opportunity to just “be a kid”, in a safe environment staffed by medical personnel.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to send 8 children and 2 PA volunteers to attend Camp Wonder.
You can volunteer!
Each year the DPAF puts out a call to the dermatology PA community for volunteers to attend Camp Wonder. Interested PAs are asked to submit a brief statement about their desire to give back and participate at Camp Wonder. Two volunteers are selected from the applicants to attend Camp Wonder; the DPAF pays for their travel. Once at Camp Wonder, all expenses and lodging are covered.
This is a tremendous opportunity to step outside of the clinic and give back to the community and assist these wonderful kids! Keep an eye out this coming January for the call for volunteers.
In the meantime, read this touching account from Krista Smith. a 2017 DPAF Camp Wonder volunteer, as she talks about her once in a lifetime experience and how it touched her life in ways she hadn’t expected.
Additionally, in this video you can hear firsthand from two former Camp Wonder attendees, who are now counselors, about what the experience means to them and the impact it has had on their lives.
