The Dermatology PA Foundation donated $20,000 to Children’s Skin Disease Foundation’s (CSDF) Camp Wonder in California following our silent auction last fall. As part of that contribution, we secured a spot for two SDPA Fellow members to volunteer as camp counselors.

This is a perfect opportunity to have a one of a kind experience and give back to deserving children with severe skin disease. Camp Wonder provides campers with a once in a lifetime chance to be a kid and have fun while under the care of 24/7 medical supervision. Volunteers would attend Camp Wonder for a full week from June 18-24, 2017 in California as counselors.

Please note that due to California law, PAs not already licensed in California cannot serve as formal medical staff and would be considered counselors.

The DPAF Board of Trustees will select two lucky volunteers to give back to the community and notify those selected shortly after the April 3rd deadline.

Each of the two volunteers will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in travel support.

Please note that the DPAF will provide direct reimbursement for travel costs to Camp Wonder. However, should you need assistance, we are happy to book tour travel through our the travel agent and the cost will be billed directly to the organization. The DPAF will reimburse you for your incidental and travel expenses up to $1,000. For airfare, we only reimburse for coach class airfare; any upgrades (i.e. business or first class) are at your own expense. Once your trip is complete, you will need to fill out the reimbursement form (attached) and submit all of your itemized receipts.

The chosen volunteers will be required to take photos (subject to approval by Camp Wonder) and write a blog/report about their experiences. This blog will be utilized in our communications, website, and social media channels.

Submissions are due no later than April 3rd
