2019 Camp Wonder Volunteer Applications – NOW OPEN!

2018 Volunteers Adam Gomoll & Jessy Ayala with DPAF board member Tom Fitzgerald at Camp Wonder.

Applications are now open for PA Volunteers for the Summer 2019 Camp Wonder. This opportunity is extended each year to PA’s of the SDPA community. This year, the DPAF board is calling for 1 SDPA member volunteer  to represent the DPAF at the camp. Selected PAs will attend the week-long session to volunteer their time as a PA and counselor. As a part of the program, the DPAF will sponsor travel for the volunteers up to $1,000.

Learn more about Camp Wonder, a camp for children with severe/life-threatening skin diseases put on each year by the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation. This unique camp allows kids to “just be a kid” in a camp environment while still receiving the medical care they need by the volunteer medical professionals who are the “camp counselors” in a judgment-free zone. Watch this short video to hear about Jessy Ayala’s experience (DPAF 2019 PA Volunteer) and what it was like to work with the campers at Camp Wonder.

Applications are open and take just a few minutes to complete. Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you want to volunteer. The DPAF Board of Trustees will select and notify the volunteer by the end of April. This is your chance to gain a life changing experience and help campers in need of a week of fun!

Session runs June 16-22, 2018 in sunny California.
